Virgin and Child

Pintoricchio’s ‘Virgin and Child’ was painted around 1490–1500. It combines tempera and oil on wood. Cleveland Museum of Art.

The painting is a late 15th-century work from Italy. It’s part of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s collection.

Pintoricchio, whose real name was Bernardino di Betto, was known for his small stature. He signed some works with a nickname meaning ‘little painter.’
