Ogata Kōrin’s “Chrysanthemums by a Stream” is one of a pair of six-panel folding screens. Ink and color on gilded paper. Created around 1715–30 or later. A work from the Edo period.

The screens depict chrysanthemums, a common motif in Japanese art symbolizing autumn. The gilded background enhances the ink and color details, creating a striking contrast.

Kōrin was a member of the Rinpa school, known for its bold and decorative style. His works extend beyond paintings to include lacquerware and textiles.
