Bamboos in Wind

Kim Jin-woo’s ‘Bamboos in Wind’ was created in 1934. It is a ten-panel folding screen, using ink on paper. Cleveland, Ohio, Korean art during the Japanese colonial period.

The screen measures over three meters in width. Each panel is filled with the delicate depiction of bamboo swaying, a traditional Korean motif.

Kim Jin-woo lived through the Japanese colonial period in Korea. His works often reflect traditional themes and techniques of Korean art.
