Chen Hongshou created ‘Paintings after Ancient Masters: Landscape in the Style of Ni Zan’ during the Ming dynasty. The work is ink and color on silk. 1598–1652.

The painting is an album leaf. It draws from the ancient style of Ni Zan, a notable Yuan dynasty painter known for sparse landscapes.

Chen Hongshou was active during the late Ming dynasty. He was from Zhuji in Zhejiang province.
