The Brierwood Pipe

The painting’s title may reference a popular poem of the time about the 5th New York Zouaves. It is also known by several similar names.

As of 2012, the painting was on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art, although it belongs to the Cleveland Museum of Art’s collection.
