Head of a Young Woman

François Boucher’s ‘Head of a Young Woman’ was painted in the early 1730s. The work is oil on canvas. Currently housed at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

The painting measures 40.5 x 32.4 cm. The canvas size suggests it might have been a study rather than a large finished work.

Boucher rarely left France. He spent most of his career in Paris, producing works for the court and private patrons.
